Consulting

The part we do ourselves.

Websites and channels bring the conversations. This is the other half — whether your people can hold one, whether the comp plan pays for the right outcome, whether the tooling underneath helps or just costs money, and whether anyone can tell you what the numbers actually mean. Four practices, all in-house.

Twenty minutes. Bring the comp plan, the org chart, or the dashboard nobody trusts.

Why this page is different

No handoffs on this work

Plenty of firms will sell you a comp plan review and quietly subcontract it. We do not, and this is the page where that matters most.

These four practices come out of building and running KickSplit Commissions — a commission and CRM product with paying customers. We have had to make payout math come out right for real people on a real payroll, which is a different education from reading about incentive design.

The people on your call are the people doing the work. That is the whole proposition.

Fit

Who this is for

Companies where revenue depends on people closing deals, roughly 5 to 50 employees. If the owner is still in every deal and still arguing about commission math in a spreadsheet, that is exactly the shape.

  • You are the best closer in the building

And that is the problem. Nothing scales while the founder is the sales team, but handing it to someone who has never carried a quota fails in a way that takes a year to become visible.

  • The plan has been patched three times

Every exception granted to keep someone happy is still in there. Nobody can predict their own cheque any more, and the people who do the math have quietly stopped pushing on the deals you most want pushed.

  • Everyone is telling you to use AI

Some of it will genuinely remove work from your team. Most of what is being pitched at you will not. Knowing which is which is worth more than another pilot that dies in month three.

  • Nobody trusts the numbers

Three systems, three answers, and a weekly meeting spent arguing about whose spreadsheet is right instead of what to do about it.

The practices

Four things, all in-house

Different services with different buyers — not tiers of one package. Take one, or combine them and we will scope it as a single engagement.

01

AI business implementation

Three things that actually remove work. And a straight answer on the rest.

Most AI engagements produce a strategy deck and a pilot nobody uses. This one produces working automations in your tools, plus an honest map of where the technology is not ready for your business yet. We build with these tools daily — the software arm is built with them — so the assessment is not theoretical.

Right for you if: Owners under pressure to "do something with AI" who want the useful 20% rather than a pilot programme.

What it covers

  • Audit of where your team actually spends the week
  • Three shipped, working automations — not slideware
  • Call summarisation, follow-up drafting, quote and proposal generation
  • Data cleanup and enrichment workflows
  • A straight answer on what to ignore, and why
  • Training session so the team keeps using it

02

Fractional sales leadership

Someone who has run a team, holding the standard — without a full-time VP salary.

One day a week of real sales management: pipeline reviewed properly, calls listened to and coached, hiring done against a scorecard instead of a gut feel, and a forecast you can plan hiring on. The goal is to make ourselves unnecessary, and we will tell you when you are ready to hire the full-time person.

Right for you if: Founder-led sales teams that have outgrown the founder but cannot yet justify a VP of Sales.

What it covers

  • Weekly pipeline review with your reps
  • Call reviews and live coaching
  • Hiring: scorecard, interviews, ride-alongs
  • A forecast you can trust enough to plan on
  • Meeting rhythm and standards that outlast the engagement
  • The hard conversation about the rep everyone has been avoiding

$4,000

Talk about your team

Three-month minimum, then month to month.

03

Commissions and sales consulting

Rebuild the plan so it pays for the behaviour you want — and still makes sense in month nine.

The practice closest to the software, and the one we are hardest to beat on. We model the new plan against your actual last twelve months rather than a clean example, so you see what each rep would have earned before anyone announces anything. Then we help you roll it out without losing your best people.

Right for you if: Companies whose comp plan has been patched until nobody can predict their own cheque.

What it covers

  • Teardown of the current plan and what it is really rewarding
  • New structure modelled against your last 12 months of real deals
  • Draws, clawbacks, splits, tiers, spiffs and accelerators
  • A written plan document your reps can actually follow
  • Rollout: how to announce a change without losing anyone
  • Sales process and pipeline design where the plan depends on it

Pull your plan apart

Two to three weeks. If tracking the payouts is the real problem, that is what KickSplit Commissions is for.

04

Business analysis and consulting

Make the numbers agree, then make them mean something.

Three systems giving three answers is not a reporting problem, it is a definitions problem. We establish what a lead, an opportunity and a closed deal actually mean at your company, get the systems agreeing, and build the handful of numbers that should drive a Monday meeting. Then we teach you to read them.

Right for you if: Owners making six-figure decisions on numbers they privately do not trust.

What it covers

  • Definitions: what counts as a lead, an opportunity, a win
  • Reconciling CRM, accounting and spreadsheet reality
  • Unit economics — cost per lead, per booked job, per closed deal
  • Dashboards and reporting people will actually open
  • CRM selection, rollout and cleanup
  • Process mapping and workflow automation

Book a call

Ongoing analyst support available monthly once the foundations are set.

And around the edges

These usually arrive inside one of the four above rather than on their own, but they can be scoped separately if that is genuinely what you need.

  • Sales training and enablement
  • Onboarding and ramp programmes for new reps
  • Territory and account assignment design
  • Compensation benchmarking
  • Interim sales operations support
  • Tool stack audit and consolidation

Straight about the stage

The consulting arm is new and there is no case-study page yet — inventing one would be the fastest way to lose a buyer who has seen a hundred of them. What is not new is the operating background, or KickSplit Commissions, which is a real product with paying customers running payouts through it. Take a call and judge whether we understand your problem in the first ten minutes.

Questions people actually ask

Is any of this subcontracted?

No. All four practices are delivered by us directly — that is the point of this page. Some production work on the ads and SEO side runs through specialist partners under our direction; consulting does not.

Are you going to be in our CRM every day?

No — fractional leadership is one day a week. If you need someone in it daily you need a full-time sales manager, and one useful outcome of an engagement like this is working out whether that is true and exactly what to hire for.

Can you just fix the comp plan without the rest?

Yes. It is a defined project with a start and an end, and plenty of companies only need that.

Do we have to use your software?

No, and it is a separate purchase on a separate site. KickSplit Commissions exists because commission tracking in a spreadsheet eventually breaks, but no consulting engagement requires it and we do not price it in.

What if you tell us something we do not want to hear?

That is most of the value. Usually it is that the plan is fine and the real problem is a rep everyone has been avoiding a conversation about for eight months.

Can we combine practices?

Often the right move — a comp rebuild plus fractional leadership to actually land it, for instance. We will scope it as one engagement with one number rather than stacking retainers.
